Lee Lucas & Jasna IIlic - One Real Dance (Collaboration)

Lee Lucas & Jasna IIlic - One Real Dance (Collaboration)

Lee Lucas & Jasna IIlic - One Real Dance (Collaboration) One Real Dance is a wonderful composition by Jasna IIlic I have been listening to some of Jasnas fine songs on her cloud over the past few months and she very much approached me with this beauty of a song asking me If I could perhaps do something with it Having heard it I can honestly say it was a great privilege for her to ask me to do some work on it and I was more than happy to oblige One Real Dance is really a very well structured song with a fine body of chords and it shows this Ladies great talent in playing the piano As with anybodys music I of coarse have to learn how to play it myself before even trying to work around it I can tell you now this song gave me a bit of task I very much learn how to play songs by loading them into Cubase and setting my markers over about 4 bars at a time and setting the playback on repeat so I can get to know every detail of the piece Of course doing it this way by ear you are not going to get everything bang on unless you have some really awesome ears But seeing as I do not have any sheet music I have no other choice to do it this way The most interesting part in this piece I found was Jasnas use of the left hand arpeggios and the use of the 3rd inversion of Bb Wonderful timing in this from the right and left hand with how they work with one another It really was a great experience for me having such a great well structured piece to play with Not only does Jasna play finely she also as a very good singing voice though she will often shy away from this side of her talent by saying she is not really a singer Well her voice is very good in this fine song and I would very much say she as a great voice for singing with and does a great job of it I very much chose to go down the orchestration roadwith my additions here and I also added a little 45 second ending to the piece to which I do like very much I very much enjoyed working on this great song and I hope you give Jasna as much attention to her cloud and her fine song to which she is worthy of You can visit Jasnas fine cloud here soundcloud-com jasna-ilic one-real-dance-written-by One Real Dance Words Music by Jasna Ilic Additional Ending Music by Lee Lucas Jasna Ilic - Vocals Piano Lee Lucas Additional VSTs of Strings Cello Double Bass Flute Clarinet Piano on Outro only Jasnas fine lyrics There will be only one One heart that fills my heart No second try Just one for life One soul that warms my soul The only one to know No second go Just one no more Only one soul where I belong Dont need no more found my true goal Only one heart only one love Dont need new face found my home place One for llifetime one who frees smiles Dont need new ties found my real light One or noone one who gives sun Love above love one breath to stun My heart makes just one choice One song it wants to join No second chance Just one real dance One love that lasts for good The only smile thats true No second dream One meant to be Please find time to leave comments which are always appreciated and many thanks for listening

Beehive

Beehive

Beehive ANDRE You see there was this song I have a tape of it I can play it for you one day And its just unbelievably beautiful You see one of the women in our group knew a few fragments of this song of Saint Francis and its a song in which you thank God for your eyes and you thank God for your heart and you thank God for your friends and you thank God for your life And it repeats itself over and over again and this became our theme song I really must play this thing for you one day because you just cant believe that a group of people who dont how to sing could create something so beautiful So I decided that when the people arrive for the beehive that our group would already be there singing this very beautiful song and that we would simply sing it over and over again One of the people decided to bring her very large teddy bear you know I think she was a little afraid of this event and somebody wanted to bring a sheet and somebody else wanted to bring a large bowl of water in case people got hot or thirsty and somebody suggested that we have candles that there be no artificial light but candle light And I remember watching people preparing for this evening Of course there was no make-up and no costumes but it was exactly the way that people prepare for a performance You know people were sort of taking off their jewelry and their watches and stowing it away and making sure its all secure And then slowly people arrived the way they would arrive at the theater in ones and twos and tens and fifteens and what-have-you and we were just sitting there and we were singing this very beautiful song and people started to sit with us and started to learn the song Now there is of course as in any performance or improvisation instants for one thing are going to get boring So at a certain point it may have only taken an hour to get there an hour and a half I suddenly grabbed this teddy bear and threw it in the air At which a hundred and forty or thirty people suddenly exploded You know it was like a Jackson Pollock painting you know human beings exploded out of this tight little circle that was singing this song and before I knew it there were two circles dancing you know One dancing clockwise the other dancing counterclockwise with this rhythm mostly from the waist down in other words like an American Indian dance with this thumping persistent rhythm Laughter in the background and some faint talking Now you could easily see cause were talking about group trance where the line between something like this and something like Hitlers Nuremberg rallies is in a way a very thin line Same background laugh Anyway After about an hour of this wild hypnotic dancing Grotowski and I found ourselves sitting opposite each other in the middle of this whole thing and we threw the teddy bear back and forth You know on one level you could say this was childish And I gave the teddy bear suck suddenly at my breast and then I threw the teddy bear to him and he gave it suck at his breast and then the teddy bear was thrown up into the air again at which there was another explosion of form intosomething salade de mots something like a kaleidoscope like a human kaleidoscope the evening was made up of shiftings of the kaleidoscope Now the only other thing that I rememberother than that I was constantly trying to guide this thing which was always involved with either movement rhythm repetition or song or chanting cause two people in my group had brought musical instruments a flute and a drum which of course are sacred instrumentswas that sometimes the room would break up into six or seven different things going on at once you know six or seven different improvisations all of which seemed in some way related to each other It was like a magnificent cobweb And at one point I noticed that Grotowski was at the center of one group huddled around a bunch of candles that they had gathered together and like a little child fascinated by fire I saw that he had his hand right in the flame and was holding it there And as I approached his group I wondered if I could do it I put my left hand in the flame and I found I could hold it there for as long as I liked and there was no burn and no pain But when I tried to put my right hand in the flame I couldnt hold it there for a second So Grotowski said If it burns try to change some little thing in yourself And I tried to do that Didnt work Then I remember a very very beautiful procession with the sheet and there was somebody being carried below the sheet you know the sheet was like some great biblical canopy and the entire group was weaving around the room and chanting And then at one point people were dancing and I was dancing with a girl and suddenly our hands began vibrating near each other like this vibrating vibrating and we went down to our knees and suddenly I was sobbing in her arms and she was sort of cradling me in her arms and then she started to cry too and then we just hugged each other for a moment and then we joined the dance again And then at a certain point hours later we returned to the singing of the song of Saint Francis and that was the end of the beehive And then again when it was over it was just like the theater after a performance you know people sort of put on their earrings and their wristwatches and we went off to the railroad station to drink a lot of beer and have a good dinner Oh and there was one girl who wasnt in our group but who just wouldnt leave so we took her along with us

I Like Green

I Like Green

I Like Green It was the night before New Years Eve when a friend of called and said she needed to record a song in my home studio for a song competition that had a submission deadline of 12 Noon on the next day The rules for all song entries were as follows 1- The theme of the song had to be environmental specifically being GREEN in urban areas like New York City 2- The song could not exceed about 3 minutes in duration and the recording needed to be simple and basic nothing complicated over arranged or over produced 3- An mp3 or cassette recording of the song and the written sheet music with lyrics had to be submitted 4- The deadline for all entries was 12 Noon New Years Eve She mentioned that there was quite an impressive panel of judges You would know many of the their names At this point my only concern was getting her recording completed in time She arrived to my place at about 6 PM that evening and we finished by about 10 30 So she had the rest of the evening and the following morning to complete the submission by the noon deadline There was also some biographical paperwork to deal with as you might expect Needless to say the thought of me also writing a song for the contest never entered my mind I went to bed got up the next morning New Years Eve morning at about 8 30 had a cup of coffee checked emails and pondered the only two things I needed to do before my party that evening which was to clean my apartment and to do my wash before first day of the new year You know the saying YOU MAKE PLANS and GOD LAUGHS Well this morning wasnt about to become an exception At about 10 30 I realized that I would never forgive myself if I didnt try to write something for the contest I called my friend and asked her to email me the submission info She did Now I had 90 minutes to conceive write music and lyrics record and do everything else that was required to submit by the deadline at Noon just a blink away High Noon was more like it At the time the daunting challenge of completing this task never occurred to me I forged ahead and got the job done I woke up on January 1st knowing that I actually submitted the song within a hour of the deadline that is hour late of course With the help of a friend I also managed to find the only laundry place open the night before I had 25 minutes before they closed The owner was nice enough to give me few minutes of drying time as well After hanging the wash so it would dry by morning off to my party I went A perfect New Years Eve celebration Fireworks in Central Park several party hops all concluding with an all night jam session not far from my home ALL WAS WELL WTH THE WORLD I returned home 6 30 AM the following morning and got a bit of sleep As I was playing guitar all night I didnt drink too much so when I woke up the only thing that hurt was my fingers I was playing mostly steel string acoustic guitar for about 8 hours straight I normally play nylon or arch top so my fingers were quite sore My right hand was a little messy as well from clipping the strings due to the increasing volume levels of the evening I wasnt in any mood to even look at my guitar so I listened to the song I wrote for the competition last year almost exactly 24 hours ago It soon became clear that it could use a little revision I tend to use the term revision instead of correction as it is a little gentler on the ego Anyway over the next few days I made several revisions mostly lyrics A word here a note there in the end I sent the woman who handled the submissions 8 revised recordings and the written music to go with it I thought for sure I was going to get an email saying PLEASE LOSE THIS EMAIL ADDRESS among other things Instead she got back to me at the end of the week and said that she was rather amused by my diligence and that my final revision would be accepted Needless to say I was delighted Unfortunately the song did not win the competition Im not really a singer and I only recently started playing the Ukulele SO you might ask why someone who isnt a singer and doesnt really play the Ukulele would record a song singing and playing a Ukulele Well I had a few friends listen to it and they all seem to think that it was amusing and had a funny tongue and cheek amateur like quality which they thought worked well for the song Besides I do like the color green It happens to be my favorite color I like living near a park I owned a green car and a green house and I do understand the lyrics especially the part about the color red and green which is accurately based on the scientific theory of color relating to human brain activity Theres a reason why traffic lights are RED YELLOW GREEN There is also a reason why you are not likely to see much RED in a hospital room or why PAN AMERICAN AIRLINES Remember them took the color YELLOW out of their airplanes Did you know that adding a bit of red to black makes black blacker or that the color blue is an appetite inhibitor Most people would probably say that that the human brain responds more to the color Red than to Green Not so Prior to humans building things everywhere the vast majority of the landmass on earth was you guessed it GREEN Scientists feel that humans are genetically predisposed to the color green because of it BTW On a more serious note We humans happened to be blessed with the habitable environment that mother Earth provides for us It is the only known planet in this solar system that supports life as we know it However good air quality and water is becoming increasingly in short supply due to population increases and human negligence Barring any catastrophic incident some in the scientific community including world renowned physicist Stephen Hawking believe that Earth will only survive another 1 000 years Its time that we humans take heed and start thinking seriously about the future of our home this fragile planet we call Earth I LIKE GREEN lyrics I like green There are places in
